Santo André/SP, Universidade Federal do ABC, UFABC, 2018. 95p. Dissertação de Mestrado. (Orientador: Laura Paulucci Marinho).

Abstract This work elaborated and evaluated a didactic sequence to study stars through the teaching of light emission and nuclear fusion phenomena that occur in them and their spectrocopic analysis. The didactic sequence elaboration was subsidized by the socio-educational theory of Vygotsky, also using elements of games in education to structure a methodology of investigative learning. As a result, a collaborative game was proposed where students had the opportunity to interact amongst them, initially in small groups and later in larger working groups. The didactic sequence is divided into four themes: brightness, energy, spectroscopy and virtual observation, each with a working structure that begins with a guiding question, develops with the making of dynamics and is completed with the systematization of knowledge. At all stages the students have tasks to be carried out, emphasizing an active and investigative methodology. This educational product was tested with students of the second year of high school in a public school in the city of São Paulo, under a mini-course format. The results obtained were very satisfactory regarding the evaluation of the students' learning and also in relation to the way the students received the proposed activities and their evaluation about the structure of the course.
